They should be evaluated for safety, reliability, and clinical usefulness, and they should be integrated in ways that support the clinician rather than distract from care delivery. When deployed responsibly, AI can strengthen healthcare delivery by improving efficiency, expanding access to timely insights, and helping professionals focus on the decisions that matter most.

Experimentation

We have spent a significant amount of time experimenting with how GenerativeAI can be integrated into clinical workflows in ways that are genuinely useful. The challenge is not only building a capable model, but also designing an experience that fits naturally into how clinicians already work. The aim is not to overwhelm clinicians with more output, but to help them reach the right information faster. In a healthcare setting, usefulness depends as much on precision and timing as it does on model capability.

Another important part of this work is constraining the system appropriately. We provide highly targeted inputs to generative AI models so they stay focused on clinically relevant tasks and avoid producing unnecessary, speculative, or distracting content. That scoped approach improves reliability and makes the output easier for healthcare professionals to interpret and validate.
